Excoal Solar Solutions was founded in March 2020. With a market flooded with new products and opportunities, we identified the need for solar products and services that address the needs of the consumer, and also to be able to provide, supply and install the product. Each consumer has a different need, and with our understanding of the market, and technical understanding of which products are available on the market, we offer solutions that are not just custom engineered but also financially suitable for each customer.
Quality, efficiency, and affordability are considered in each of our solutions – providing a wide range of solutions to cover the full spectrum of requirements of all customers. Each solution is approached specifically to look at each customer’s individual needs.
We have also built relationships with our suppliers who provide us with the best pricing and support, thus ensuring that this is channeled down to each consumer by providing the best price and after sales guarantees and of course technical support that may be required, thus keeping our customers happy.

Meet our team
Johann Bonthuys (B.com)
Franchise directorJohann matriculated in George (Western Cape) at the well-known Outeniqua High School in 1975. He obtained his B. Com (Statistics) degree at the University of the Orange Free State in 1979.
During his career he lectured Statistics at the University of Pretoria. He was also a part time lecturer for the University of Johannesburg in the Certificate of Road Transport field.
Most of his working life was spent in the public transport sector and he has extensive experience in general management. He held various senior management positions including General Manager for Newtra Holdings, General Manager for Lebowa Transport and Managing Director both Midbank Bus Services (Pty) Ltd as well as F&I Services (Pty) Ltd.
Johann has good experience in the franchise field as he owns two franchises in automotive industry.
Johan Otto (B.Compt)
Administrative / Financial Director
Johan is an Accountant by trade, started his career by doing his Articles at an Auditing firm in Pretoria in 1979. He worked as an Financial Manager at various Companies and ended up as an After Sales Manager at Swedish Truck Distributors (Volvo Trucks) in Middelburg, Mpumalanga in 1998. He then worked as an Independent Finance Consultant for most of
the Banks in South Africa, concentrating on Asset Based Finance in the Transport Industry up to 2010. He formed a Company with Efficient Group where he was the MD, doing finances again for the Transport Industry. The last 5 years he went back to his routes as a Financial Manager for a Transport Company.
